Microneedling

Microneedling is a great technique to stimulate new collagen production by micro-puncturing the skin. By inducing the skin’s own ability to heal, microneedling can help improve the appearance of uneven skin tone and texture; acne scarring; fine lines and wrinkles; and stretch marks.

The downtime from microneedling is generally 1-2 days due to some redness. The results will begin to show within 1-2 weeks, and some improvement may be seen for several weeks. Multiple treatments may be needed for optimal results.

Microneedling should not be performed if you are using retinoids (Tretinoin/Retin-A, Retinol etc.) or other exfoliants, such as glycolic acids or alpha-hydroxy acids. Please discontinue the use of these products at least 7 days before treatment. You may go back to using the products once all redness and irritation from the treatment have subsided (usually about 3 days.)

Microneedling should never be performed if you are using actively using Accutane, or have used it in the past. Please consult with your prescribing physician about how long you should be off Accutane before getting any skin procedures.
